Play on Words (POW!) is a literacy program that uses improv theater to help teach reading and writing skills. Teaching artists from the Curious Comedy Training Center lead 12 workshops over six weeks for 4th and 6th graders from Bridger Elementary School, using improv games to teach the principles of great storytelling. Each workshop will include time for students to write stories and apply the concepts and skills learned during the workshop in creating their own stories. At the end of the workshop series, these stories will be adapted for the stage by the Curious Comedy resident ensemble, Curious Comedy Playas.
