CAST

Stacey Hallal - Coach

Stacey has been performing, teaching, and directing improv and sketch comedy in Portland and Chicago over the past ten years and has appeared and taught at over 25 comedy festivals across the United States and Canada. While in Chicago, Stacey complete the iO Chicago, Annoyance, and Second City training centers. She went on to complete the prestigious Directing Program at Second City where she also taught improv and writing to adults and kids as a member of the Second City Training Faculty. Stacey assistant directed the smash hit Second City mainstage production, Between Barack and A Hard Place. In Portland, Stacey was a member of the critically acclaimed comedy duo All Jane No Dick and debuted her one-woman show, The Humperdink Family Reunion, to rave reviews. Stacey uses improv to help corporations better understand and tell their brand stories with Character, LLC (www.characterweb.com), a Portland-based company she helped start up in 2001.



Bob Ladewig - Coach

Bob has performed and directed improv in Chicago since 1998. He has taught adults and teens at ComedySportz Chicago and has coached improv ensembles at iO Chicago and the Playground Theater. He has also directed several critically acclaimed shows including Cathcart & Olson, 37 Foxtrot, The Panic Broadcast, Husband & Life, and directed and adapted the beloved kids’ show The Stinky Cheeseman. He has been a cast member of The Chicago Neutrino Project (an improvised film production) since 2003. He has performed at iO Chicago since 2000, was an ensemble member of ComedySportz Chicago from 2000-2007, and has appeared in many original kids’ shows including Paper Spaceship, Kid Mystery, and Wild Pecos Bill. He also writes music reviews for lostatsea.net.





Kathryn Durkin - Cast Member

Portland native Kathryn Durkin returned to Portland in 2008 after earning a B.A. in Theatre from Loyola University. Kathryn studied improv and comedy in Chicago at the Second City Conservatory and Music Program and performed with many groups, including: BAM!, pH Productions, The Genesius Players, Liquor and Dreams, and Cornered by Squirrels.  She was a member of the original, featured cast of pH’s first musical: pHamily the Musical.  In the greater Portland area, Kathryn has worked with theatre companies from Vancouver, WA to Lake Oswego, including: Portland Center Stage, Lakewood Theatre Company, and Artists Equity.






Alex Falcone - Cast Member

Alex has performed improv and sketch comedy in every major city on the west coast (and some minor ones).  He is just over six feet tall and quite dashing.










David Saffert - Cast Member

David Saffert hails from Minneapolis, but his real home is Wisconsin.  (Just ask him

to say "bagel"!)  Some famous people from Wisconsin include Ed Gein, Jeffrey Dahmer, and "Mrs. Garrett" from "The Facts of Life". He spent the past six years as a freelance pianist/actor working at the Guthrie, Brave New Workshop, Minnesota History Theatre, and the James Sewell Ballet. David thinks a "Miami Vice" musical would be sweeeeeeeet!





Alex Blendl - Cast Member

Alex has been active in Portland theater too long a time to reveal. He discovered improv at the Lakewood Theater in the mid 90's and went on to join a Theatersports group.As a Theatersports member he had an opportunity to perform at Unexpected Productions in Seattle as well as at the Clinton Street theater in Portland.  After 2 years he joined the Brody Theater doing long form improv and some sketch comedy. After an on and off affair with the Brody that lasted years he is now a member of Brown Chicken, Brown Cow doing long form improv through Curious Comedy.







Bill Holznagel - Cast Member

Bill Holznagel has built and performed with puppets since 1994.  His building credits include Perseus, Ride the Red Mare, The Reluctant Dragon, and When Animals Were People (Tears of Joy Theatre), Blue, Mysteries of the Heart, and The Wild Child for which he won a Drammy Award (Signal Light Theatre and Hand2Mouth Theatre), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Michael Curry Designs), Pinnochio (Olde World Puppet Theatre), Cupid and Psyche (Willamette University), and Promethius, The Musical (Lakewood Theatre).  He has toured extensively with Tears of Joy Theatre in Baba Yaga, Alice in Wonderland, and Anansi the Spider, and Il Teatro Calamari in Waiting for a Train for which he won the "Best Actor" award at the Pierrot International Puppetry Festival in Bulgaria.
