Stacey Hallal

Stacey has been performing, teaching, and directing improv and sketch comedy in Portland and Chicago over the past ten years and has appeared and taught at over 25 comedy festivals across the United States and Canada. While in Chicago, Stacey completed the iO Chicago, Annoyance, and Second City training centers. She went on to complete the prestigious Directing Program at Second City where she also taught improv and writing to adults and kids as a member of the Second City Training Faculty. Stacey assistant directed the smash hit Second City mainstage production, Between Barack and A Hard Place. In Portland, Stacey was a member of the critically acclaimed comedy duo All Jane No Dick and debuted her one-woman show, The Humperdink Family Reunion, to rave reviews. Stacey uses improv to help corporations better understand and tell their brand stories with Character, LLC, a Portland-based company she helped start up in 2001.

Gabe Dinger 

Gabe started doing stand up comedy in 2005. He won the Portland Amateur Comedy Contest in 2006 showcasing his razor-sharp wit and unmatched timing, and in 2007 won the CBS Radio Laff Off. Gabe’s material is fun and smart in a way that is accessible to a wide audience. Gabe can boast being the first comedian in Oregon State history to perform at Oregon State Maximum Security Prison in Salem Oregon. Gabe is a main-stage cast member and instructor at Curious Comedy Theater. Gabe’s experience includes improv and sketch comedy making his stage performances exciting, dynamic, unpredictable, and always funny. Gabe has performed in a variety of venues; clubs such as Harvey’s (Portland, OR), Helium (Portland, OR), The Funny Bone (Boise, ID and Reno, NV) and Gabe has also been a part of the Bridgetown Comedy Festival in Portland, OR since it’s inception in 2008, and countless one nighters across the north and mid west. In a nutshell Gabe is the consummate comedian. You won’t want to miss his exciting thrill ride of a show.

Joshua Stenseth 

Joshua has been performing and teaching improvisation since 2004. He received his B.A. in Theatre from Minnesota State University Moorhead and his improvisational training from Second City and many Chicago and Minneapolis improv greats. He taught and performed on the Midwestern Bearded Men Improv tour from 2007-2009. Josh has also trained and performed as a puppeteer with Tears of Joy Theatre. Josh can frequently been seen in many regional theatres when he is not teaching and performing and occasionally manning a puppet at Curious Comedy.

Jake Michels

Jake started his teaching career assisting in a Beginning Improvisation class at Oregon Children’s Theatre at the age of 15. By 18 he was lead-teaching classes, and he now works at OCT as a full-time staff member in the education department. As an active member of several improv troupes since then, he has led workshops and rehearsals at Washington State University, Clark College, and dozens of high schools around the northwest. In addition to directing a yearly Young Professionals improv showcase at OCT, Jake is currently teaching adult improvisation classes at Curious Comedy Theater.

Caitlin Kunkel

Caitlin is a comedy writer, producer and faculty member of Chicago’s Second City Training Center, where she teaches sketch, TV and screenwriting.  She created the curriculum currently used at The Second City as a prerequisite for all their advanced writing courses. Her short plays and sketch comedy revues have been performed at theaters across Chicago.  She’s produced short films that have premiered at the LA Comedy Festival and been acquired for national broadcast by MTV Networks. Caitlin has an MFA in Writing for the Screen and Stage from Northwestern University and sold a screenplay she created as part of her coursework there.
